A Franklin woman accused of poisoning her friend with eye drops is set to go on trial at the end of the month.
Prosecutors have charged 37-year-old Jessy Kurczewski with first-degree intentional homicide and two counts of felony theft. Investigators say she originally told police that her friend’s death in 2018 was an accident, or a drug overdose. Police later said the story didn’t match up and an autopsy showed her friend died with a deadly amount of tetrahydrozoline, the main ingredient in eye drops, in her blood. Prosecutors say Kurczewski also stole 130-thousand dollars from her friend by transferring money into her own account.
