New Bill Would Raise School Zone Fines

The Wisconsin State Senate is changing a bill that would raise fines for reckless driving in school zones.

Right now, failing to stop for a school bus will result in a maximum fine of 300 dollars. An amendment to the proposal increases fines for the violation to between 300 and 1-thousand dollars. The amended bill needs approval from the Assembly before going to the Governor’s desk.
