Madison Police say the suspect in last weekend’s brutal attack on a UW student says he ‘went into a rage.’
Prosecutors filed formal charges against 26-year-old Brandon Thompson yesterday. He’s charged with beating, raping, and nearly killing a young woman early last Sunday morning. Investigators say Thompson admitted beating the woman, but denied raping her. Asked why, police say Thompson told them he ‘went into a rage.’ Witnesses say Thompson was covered in the woman’s blood when they found him standing over her body. Thompson is being held in the Dane County Jail on a million dollars bond.
