CDC Urges Vaccinations Ahead of School Year News | August 17, 2023 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy The head of the CDC was in Madison yesterday to remind parents to get their kids vaccinated before school starts in a couple of weeks. CDC Director Mandy Cohen stopped by Madison’s public health office to talk about the importance of back-to-school vaccinations. Cohen said Wisconsin is slightly behind the national average when it comes to vaccinated kids. Children in Wisconsin need certain required shots in order to be able to start the school year, Cohen said now is the time to get those shots. The coronavirus vaccine is not on that list this year.
