Soldier Remains Missing, Not POW

The U.S. soldier from Racine who reportedly ran across the border into North Korea is not being called a prisoner of war.

The Pentagon yesterday said it will not be classifying Private Travis King as a P-O-W. A report says part of the decision centers on King’s decision to cross the border willingly, and while wearing civilian clothes. King’s family says he ran across the border last month and hasn’t been heard from since. Army investigators say King was just released from a South Korean jail days before, and was supposed to be sent home to the United States.
