While Milwaukee County’s county executive is floating a new plan to pay for American Family Field, other county leaders are saying ‘no’.
County Executive David Crowley said he’s asked Republican lawmakers for some flexibility to spend some of the county’s new sales tax money on the ballpark. But County Supervisor Peter Burgelis said any money for the stadium needs to come from the state. Supervisor Sheldon Wasserman even suggested bringing back the five county sales tax as a way to pay for the repairs and maintenance that Am Fam Field needs. The Brewers have said the ballpark needs at least 400-million dollars worth of work.
