Milwaukee County’s boss wants to get a deal on the Brewers’ ballpark, but he’s not saying just what the deal should look like.
County Executive David Crowley yesterday said he doesn’t want to see American Family Field sit and empty and go to waste. He said if the Brewers leave, that’s exactly what would happen. The team is not necessarily threatening to leave if it doesn’t get public money to help pay for repairs to the stadium, but team officials say something must be done. City leaders aren’t so sure. A group of Milwaukee aldermen last month said they wouldn’t spend a dime of public money on the ballpark.
