Police in Whitewater say last week’s report of an attempted child abduction was a hoax.
Investigators yesterday said the witness who said they saw a man try and snatch a young girl off the street ‘gave a false account.’ That report sent police across southern Wisconsin looking for a man with tan skin in a black sedan. Whitewater Police say there is no threat to the community. They are not saying, however, if the person who made-up the story will be charged.
