Speeding Leads to OWI

Armani R Maye, 32 years of age, from Lynwood, IL has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with two children in
the vehicle under the age of 16.


On July 10, 2023, at approximately 8:29 AM a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped a car on Interstate 94 that was traveling east near mile marker 63 in Eau Claire County for speeding. During the traffic stop, the Trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the car. A subsequent investigation, including a standardized field sobriety test, was conducted on the driver.

The driver, Armani R. Maye from Lynwood, IL was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance 1st offense with a minor in the vehicle. Mr. Maye was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test. The children, ages 10 and 8 were released to a responsible party. Mr. Maye is being charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 1st offense with a minor child in the vehicle, operating without a license, speeding and a minor not wearing a seatbelt.
