A Dane County man is heading to prison for making threats to Governor Tony Evers and other elected leaders.
A federal judge in Madison yesterday sentenced 53-year-old Michael Yaker to a year and a day in prison. Yaker pleaded guilty to making the threats on Facebook last year. The judge spent a lot of time focusing on Yaker’s mental health, and ordered him to get some counseling after he is released from prison. Yaker has a history of making threats against public officials, going all the way back to 2010.
