Reach Across the Aisle?

Republican leaders and Democratic Governor Tony Evers have reportedly reached a deal on a shared revenue bill.

WisPolitics is reporting the deal would drop a requirement for Milwaukee County and city to hold referendums to approve new sales taxes.  Instead the county board and common council would have to approve the taxes with two-thirds votes.  The deal would also allow the county to add point-four percent to its existing sales tax.  That bill also set a minimum increase of 15 percent in shared revenue for most counties and municipalities.  The new deal reportedly increases that to 20 percent.
