Chippewa Police Investigate Illegal Dumping

Chippewa Police Investigate Illegal Dumping

Police in Chippewa Falls are fed up with the mess at the Chippewa Falls Senior Center left by illegal dumpers.

Police Chief Matthew Kelm took to Facebook yesterday to warn would-be thieves and dumpers that officers are going to step-up their patrols. The Senior Center hosts a scrap drive each year as a fundraiser, but the chief says the site has turned into a dumping ground for everything from old couches to people’s unwanted junk. To make matters worse, the chief says, thieves are stealing the scrap metal that is valuable. The Senior Center’s Angie Walker says there’s been some theft and dumping in the past, but she said this year is the worst she’s ever seen.
