Plane Lands in Farm Field

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the FAA are investigating after a small private plane had to land in a farm field near Cross Plains Saturday afternoon.

The single-engine plane landed in a field on Garfoot Road around 1:30 p.m. after the pilot suspected an oil leak and decided to make an emergency landing.  The plane was carrying only the pilot and one passenger on a flight from Minnesota to Illinois.  Neither was injured.
