We are getting a few new details about UW receiver Markus Allen’s weekend arrest. Madison Police yesterday confirmed that Allen had a stolen gun in his backpack when he was arrested Saturday.
Officers are not saying just where the gun was stolen from, however. Madison Police say they arrested Allen because he had an ‘open intoxicant,’ that’s when they searched his backpack and found the gun. Jail records show Allen was arrested on preliminary charges of being armed while drunk, though those charges could be upgraded. The University of Wisconsin over the weekend said it is aware of Allen’s arrest, and is evaluating the information in the case.
