More than 280 Wisconsin law enforcement agencies took part in Drug Take Back Day on Saturday.
At a gathering of law enforcement leaders in McFarland, Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett said Drug Take Back Day has the power to save the lives of children and pets who might get into medications they shouldn’t. Barrett also said the event can save the lives of people struggling with addiction. Drug Take Back Day happens twice a year, in April and October. Law enforcement officials said people turned in 27 tons of medications during October’s Drug Take Back Day.
