UW-Stout’s Maintenance Employee Recognized Appreciation Award

Wayne Poppe has received the University Staff Employee Appreciation award for March at University of Wisconsin-Stout. Poppe, from Menomonie, is a steamfitter with Building Maintenance. He has worked at UW-Stout 27 years.

The person nominating Poppe stated: “Wayne’s dedication to UW-Stout can be seen all over our campus through his many fabrication projects, from keeping our campus steam supply up and running to fabricating tools to help our maintenance personnel complete tasks. His fabrication skills are excellent and highly respected by his peers.

“Wayne has always been willing to answer questions and provide guidance to his co-workers. He has also been a great resource for Facilities Management to rely on for expert advice. Wayne is highly respected within the department. His knowledge of the campus, excellent work ethic and superior skillset have truly made him an irreplaceable asset to UW-Stout.”

Each employee of the month receives a certificate of recognition and a gift presented by Chancellor Katherine Frank.

The award, in its 17th year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
