The fire near Fort McCoy is no longer burning.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says crews contained and extinguished the Arcadia Fire on Saturday. DNR says the fire burned more than three thousand acres, and closed roads and sent people out of their homes while it burned for three days. No one was hurt, and it’s not clear yet just what all was damaged. The fire near Fort McCoy was the biggest of last week’s wildfires across the state.
