Wisconsin’s governor says the state’s secretary of state quit because he was ‘sick of this stuff.’
Governor Evers yesterday filled-in some of the backstory to Secretary of State Doug La Follette’s sudden retirement last week. Evers says he first learned of La Follette’s intentions when La Follette delivered a letter to his office saying that he was ‘sick of this stuff.’ The governor is not saying just what La Follette was sick of.
Republicans last week howled when La Follette resigned and the governor appointed former State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski to replace him. The governor dismissed those criticisms as political.
