There’s a plan at the Wisconsin Capitol to make the Henry 45-70 Wisconsin’s official state rifle.
New legislation from state Reps. Dave Armstrong, Treig Pronschinske and James Edming, as well as state Senator Romaine Quinn would be symbolic, no one would have to buy the rifle and the state wouldn’t be purchasing any either. Henry is based in Rice Lake, and there’s a Henry plant in Ladysmith. At least nine other states across the country have ‘official’ state rifles.
