Prosecution Rests in Murder Trial of Former Badger Player

The prosecution has rested in the double-murder trial of a former Badger football player.

The D.A.’s office in Janesville yesterday wrapped-up with its witnesses in  Marcus Randle El’s murder trial. He is looking at life in prison for the 2020 shooting deaths of two women. The jury heard from a string of witnesses that said he fled to Chicago after shooting the women. The defense has pointed out that there’s no DNA evidence in the case, and investigators never found the murder weapon. The trial will resume later this morning.
