The sheriff in Kenosha County says deputies opened fire on a suspect who pointed a weapon at them.
The suspect is now in the hospital, and the deputies are on leave as an investigation begins. It happened yesterday afternoon near Highway 45 in the Town of Paris. The sheriff says the suspect was speeding away from officers, then crashed in a field. That’s when the shooting started. The state Department of Justice is handling the investigation.
