Wisconsin’s congressional delegation is weighing in on new House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
Republican Bryan Steil of Wisconsin’s first district released a statement saying he’s proud to support McCarthy who has “worked harder than anyone to end one-party rule.” Democrat Mark Pocan of Wisconsin’s second district criticized McCarthy for “flushing” his powers as Speaker “down the drain” and “naming extremists to certain committees.” Representative Gwen Moore of the fourth district said she voted for Hakeem Jeffries, but that she looks forward to seeing how McCarthy “exercises his power as Speaker to lead.”
