The state’s Department of Natural Resources is being called-in to help clean-up butter in Portage.
A fire at the Associated Milk Producers facility in Portage on Monday melted 20 gallons of butter . That butter washed into the sewers, and is now causing problems at Portage’s wastewater treatment plant. DNR regulators say there’s been a minimal impact from the butter spill on the environment. Firefighters in Portage aren;t sure yet just what caused the fire.
