A Black River Falls man picks up a 5th OWI.
Troy A. Schaller, 56 years of age, from Black River Falls has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 5th offense.
On December 12, 2022, at approximately 12:05 pm, a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper initiated a traffic stop on US Highway 12 and Andrews Road near Black River Falls for a speed violation. Upon contact with the vehicle and the driver, the trooper observed signs of impairment and a subsequent investigation was conducted. The driver, Troy Schaller, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant 5th offense. Mr. Schaller was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test of his blood and then to the Jackson County Jail.
Mr. Schaller is being charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant 5th offense, failure to install an ignition interlock device and warned for speed.
