History and Holiday’s Collide

Tactical Escape 101 brings another seasonal escape room to the 1871 Historic Schlegelmilch House in downtown Eau Claire. This year’s game — The List. The story — Christmas is near and Santa is making his “Good” and “Not So Good” lists, but which list are you on? Teams will have just 60 minutes to sneak into Santa’s parlor and find Santa’s lists to make sure their names are on the correct list.

“The holiday escape rooms bring joy and energy into the house, just like family holiday gatherings did years ago.”

Chippewa Valley Museum and Tactical Escape 101 have partnered since 2016 to offer unique escape room experiences. Tactical Escape 101 owner Jennifer Fonfara loves designing puzzles for the Schlegelmilch House.  “There’s so much fun coming out of that house. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude that the Chippewa Valley Museum is able to provide such a unique environment for our escape room ideas.”

“Christmas and New Year’s Day been celebrated at this house in some form or fashion since 1871 when the Schlegelmilch family moved in,” begins Executive Director Carrie Ronnander.  “The holiday escape rooms bring joy and energy into the house, just like family holiday gatherings did years ago. It’s good to be able to offer this kind of family-centered experience, but I would imagine Herman and Augusta Schlegelmilch would be quite surprised to see how the holidays are celebrated in their house today,” Ronnander adds with a smile.

The List runs Wednesday – Sunday, November 25 – January 1 at the Historic Schlegelmilch House located at 517 S. Farwell Ave. It is also open December 26 – January1. Additional game times may be requested by called 715-418-0012.  Reservations must be made in advance online WITH AN EASY CLICK HERE.
