Caroling, Cookies, and Crafts…Oh, My!

Caroling, Cookies, and Crafts…Oh, My!

As the city’s sesquicentennial year comes to a close, Chippewa Valley Museum celebrates with a special series featuring live music and family-friendly entertainment. Scheduled every Saturday from 1-4 pm on November 26, December 3 and 10, attendees can enjoy interactive performances with guest musicians, join roving carolers throughout the exhibit galleries, decorate their own sugar cookies, and make vintage crafts. No registration is required, and all activities are included with the price of admission.

“The goal is to offer visitors one last opportunity to see CVM’s Then-and-Now exhibit before it closes at the end of December…”

Violinist Olaf Lind will help kick-off the series, performing songs in the exhibits to connect audiences with traditions of yesteryear. Other scheduled performers are musician, educator, and entertainer Doug Wozniak presenting a variety show of music and magic for children of all ages, and Sheila Wall, founder of The Music Therapist Company, sharing caroling favorites on keyboard and guitar. Local members of both the National Honor Society and Key Club, Circle K, and Eau Claire K-Kids Club will be on hand to participate and help visitors navigate from one space to the next.

“The goal is to offer visitors one last opportunity to see CVM’s Then-and-Now exhibit before it closes at the end of December” says museum educator and series organizer Karen Jacobson, “while at the same time providing a full afternoon of family fun!” Jacobson shares that Mrs. York’s cookies will be supplying all of the frosting and other supplies for people to create cookie art to eat on-site, or take home. “Whether you decide to satisfy your sweet tooth, or not, there will be lots to see and do!” The Chippewa Valley Museum hosts an annual Gingerbread Contest & Display that will also be available for viewing from December 3-17.
