Janesville has a new nature park.
The Rock River Heritage County Park is 172 acres of forested trails with lodges, cabins and a man-made lake, just north of Janesville along the Rock River. The park was originally opened by the Boy Scouts in 1946 and was purchased by Rock County last year. A grand opening will take place in the spring, but the park is open now.
