Crash Results in Injuries, 11th OWI

A crash sends a man to the hospital and results in an 11th OWI.

Thomas S Barthman, 58 years of age, from Osceola has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 11th offense.

Troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries in Polk County east of Clear Lake. Upon arriving on the scene, the driver Scott Barthman, was being attended to by EMS. A helicopter was en-route due to the severity of the driver’s injuries. As Troopers continued the crash investigation, they noticed the odor of intoxicants emitting from the driver. A routine driver’s license check showed the driver had a suspended driver’s license with ten prior OWIs. Mr. Barthman was subsequently arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Mr. Barthman was transported by helicopter to a local hospital.
