Charity Fraud Charges Dropped, Case Over

Prosecutors are dropping the charges against a Fall Creek woman originally charged with 63 thousand-dollars in charity fraud.

The D.A.’s office in Eau Claire made the decision not to prosecute 52-year-old Shauna Hanson earlier this week. She was originally accused of depositing 63 thousand-dollars for her charity Helping Hands for Our Children into her personal bank account. Prosecutors later charged her with theft of five thousand-dollars, then cut that to a misdemeanor charge when they found a lesser dollar discrepancy in the case.

The decision to drop the charges means the case is now over.
