Governor Tony Evers is ordering flags in the state lowered for murdered Juneau County Judge John Roemer. His services are being held today in Mauston.
The governor’s order lasts from sun-up til sundown. Police say a convicted criminal broke into Roemer’s home and shot him to death last month. Roemer had retired from the bench, but had sentenced the suspect to prison years-earlier on a burglary charge.
