Sparta’s superintendent has resigned ahead of another investigation.
Superintendent Dr. Amy Van Deuren announced her resignation yesterday. An outside investigation found evidence that Van Duren mistreated teachers and school administrators, including accusations that she was angry and hostile. The school board was looking to open its own investigation next. Van Duren didn’t mention the investigation in her resignation letter, and the school district said it simply wants to move forward.
