The man charged with killing several people at a parade in Illinois, allegedly considered a second mass shooting in Wisconsin the same day.
Officials say Robert Crimo the Third came upon a 4th of July celebration in Madison and was going to open fire on that event. He told investigators he changed his mind because he hadn’t done enough research on the Madison event, which is just over two hours away from the Highland Park shooting scene.
Crimo has been charged with seven counts of first-degree murder and is being held without bond. He’ll be back in court on July 28th.
