The city of Wausau is looking to borrow to pay for its PFAS clean-up effort.
The city yesterday said it is moving forward with a plan to remove as many of the so-called forever chemicals from its water supply. The price tag is 16 million-dollars. Wausau will be able to get some of that money from Wisconsin’s Safe Water Drinking Loan Program, but those dollars won’t be available until next year. Wausau said in a news release yesterday it will take about two years to complete its PFAS-related work.
