The Chippewa Valley was spared the worst of yesterday’s storms, but that wasn’t the story everywhere in our state.
The National Weather Service says tornadoes fell near Tomah and Mauston, and strong storms ripped across the central and eastern parts of the state. Xcel Energy is not reporting any power outages. Forecasters say today clear and dry, with highs in the 70s in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.
And that weather shift will see many cleaning up. It will also be a busy day for electric crews across Wisconsin today.
Almost every utility in the state is reporting outages. As of early this morning, more than 100 thousand-people in the state were confirmed to be in the dark.
