A halt on ACT/SAT requirements at University of Wisconsin-Madison isn’t resulting in more diverse applicants.
That’s according to preliminary research recently released by the Wisconsin Board of Regents. The research shows during the first year of optional standardized testing 63 percent of applicants still submitted test scores and people who submitted scores were less likely to be female, Black, or Hispanic. The Board says the policy has led to more applicants but so far hasn’t resulted in more diversity.
