Wisconsin’s two U.S. Senators want to end protections for gray wolves.
Both Republican Ron Johnson and Democrat Tammy Baldwin last week introduced a plan to delist the wolves. It comes after a federal judge in California issued new protections for wolves in Wisconsin and most of the rest of the country. That decision ended Wisconsin’s wolf hunt for the foreseeable future.
Johnson and Baldwin’s proposal would allow hunters and trappers to once again manage the gray wolves that are growing in the northern part of the state.
