It was a domestic violence situation that escalated.
That’s how Milwaukee Police are describing a Saturday night officer-involved shooting. It happened about 11:30 p.m. near 19th and Hampton. Police say they got a call about a domestic disturbance and arrived to find a man armed with a gun. At some point, an officer fired at the man and wounded him.
MPD says the shooting is under investigation. The suspect is recovering. Prosecutors have not said when or if formal charges may be coming.
