UW System Looks at Adding Carbon Monoxide Detectors

The UW System is looking at all of its dorms after a carbon monoxide leak at UW-Milwaukee.

The leak on Monday night sent 17 students to the hospital, and put nearly 400 others on the street for the night. UW-Milwaukee leaders say building codes in Milwaukee don’t require carbon monoxide detectors in dorms. UW System leaders, however, say state building codes do require the detectors. The university says crews are now checking dorms on every campus to make sure they have carbon monoxide detectors in place.
