Superintendent Urges Surplus Spending on Schools

Madison’s superintendent wants lawmakers to use some of the state’s record-surplus to send more money to schools. 

Superintendent Carlton Jenkins said schools across the state could always use more money.  Wisconsin is on-track for a record four billion-dollar surplus by next summer.  Governor Tony Evers and Democrats across the state want to spend the money on schools, while Republicans at the Capitol are talking about using some of the surplus to cut taxes.
