Lawyers Argue Homicides Charges Against Former Clown Break Prosecutor’s Promise

Lawyers for ‘Silly the Clown’ say Milwaukee County prosecutors broke their promise by charging him with his daughter’s death from back in 1991.

The D.A.’s office filed reckless homicide charges against Ronald Schroeder back in August. This month, his lawyers told a judge that the 30-year gap between the alleged crime and the filing of charges violates Schroeder’s due process, and breaks a written promise from prosecutors not to charge him in the case. Doctors say the little girl was shaken to death. Schroeder served time in prison on an unrelatedĀ  2008 sexual assault conviction. He was released from prison back in 2017.
