Public Health Managers Cut Quarantine Times, Recommend Coronavirus Rule Changes in Schools

Public health managers in Wisconsin are recommending some coronavirus rule changes for schools across the state.

The Department of Health Services sent a letter to every school in the state yesterday explaining that they can cut their quarantine and isolation requirements in half. Instead of 10 days out of school, DHS says schools can now allow students who test positive to return to class after five.

Vaccinated students who come into close contact with positive students don’t need to leave class at all. But DHS is also recommending that schools go back to mandatory-mask policies. DHS is offering some of its N95 masks to schools they don’t have or can’t afford to buy their own.
