The county’s medical examiner yesterday said the county set a record for drug overdose deaths. The M.E.’s office says 560 people died from a confirmed drug overdose last year, that’s more than the 545 people who OD’d in 2020. But that number could go-up. The county’s chief examiner says they are waiting on 50 more toxicology reports. He says Milwaukee County will not just break the record for overdose deaths, the county will shatter it.
