WI Lawmakers Have Abortion Legislation on Agenda

None of the pieces of abortion legislation that cleared the Wisconsin Assembly yesterday are expected to become law.

Republican lawmakers approved a series of plans that include a ban on sex-selective abortions and a born alive provision. Republican state Representative William Penterman says life needs to be protected in Wisconsin.  Democrats, including state Representative Lisa Subeck, say abortion is healthcare and they want to protect healthcare. Republicans passed almost identical plans two years ago.

Governor Tony Evers vetoed them then and is expected to veto this series of plans as well.
