Deputies are saying a driver who crossed the centerline was the cause of a deadly crash on Highway 178 over the weekend.
It happened yesterday between Chippewa Falls and Jim Falls. The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office says an 85-year-old woman from rural Chippewa Falls died in the crash. Two others, a 28-year-old woman from Washington state and a 61-year-old woman from Jim Falls were hurt in the wreck. Deputies say the 28-year-old veered into the path of the elderly woman, and they crashed head-on.
