WI Lawmakers Push Exports

Wisconsin lawmakers want to ship 25 percent of the state’s milk, cheese, meat, and crops out of the country.

The state’s Joint Finance Committee yesterday ordered the state’s agricultural department to come up with a plan to increase agricultural exports by 2025. Right now, state Representative Tony Kurtz says Wisconsin only exports about three percent of its 105 billion dollars worth of agricultural products. Dairy groups in the state are most excited about the new export push.
