Reports of gunshots lead to an arrest.
It was on Sunday, September 12th at about 4:48p.m., the Lake Hallie Police Department was called to Lake Hallie for a report of multiple gunshots in the area. It had been reported that approximately ten gunshots were heard throughout the area.
Lake Hallie Police responded to the area to determine the origin of the gunshots. Through the investigation, at approximately 6:25p.m., Lake Hallie Police Department executed a search warrant in the 2400 block of 113th Street, Lake Hallie.
Officers seized five firearms and bulletproof vests from the residence. 64 year old Michael Mahowald, of Lake Hallie was arrested for Felon in Possession of Firearms and transported to the Chippewa County Jail. Possible further charges are pending in the investigation.
