Prosecutors in Milwaukee are going after one of the city’s alderwomen for felony embezzlement.
The D.A.’s office filed charges yesterday against Alderwoman Chantia Lewis. She’s accused of charging the city for trips that she paid for with campaign money, as well as lying on campaign finance forms, and hiding improper campaign contributions. Lewis says it’s all a big misunderstanding, she claims she is 100 percent innocent of any wrongdoing. Lewis is not only a Milwaukee alderwoman, she’s also a candidate for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.
