Civility Urged at School Board Meetings

Civility Urged at School Board Meetings

Protesting and passion are fine, but the head of Wisconsin’s school board association says intimidation and anger are not.

John Ashley with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards yesterday asked for civility at local school board meetings across the state. He said parents should absolutely be involved in their kids’ schools, but he said it crosses the line when parents threaten violence or hurl obscenities or try to stop school boards from voting. Ashley says parents need to remember that their kids are watching how they behave at these meetings.
