Another 53 cases of COVID-19 are being reported out of Eau Claire as of Wednesday’s update from state health officials.
Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services noted yesterday that more than half of the population in Eau Claire County is fully vaccinated. That surpasses the statewide average in terms of full vaccination. Just over 54-percent of the statewide population has received at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Nearly half of the counties in Wisconsin have a “very high” transmission rate of COVID-19, according to state health officials.
As of Wednesday, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is reporting the seven-day average of new COVID cases has increased from 13-hundred-69 to 14-hundred-17 in a single day. This is the highest the seven-day trend has been in the state since February. Thirty-four counties in the state are showing a high transmission rate of the virus, up from just twelve one week ago.
