A Colorado Springs man will attempt to set a world record for bagpipe playing on Pikes Peak this weekend.
Bruce Parkman plans to play for 15 minutes at the summit of the mountain this Sunday afternoon to set a Guinness World Record for playing bagpipes at the highest altitude. Parkman is making the attempt in honor of his son Mac, who committed suicide last September in the area of Pulpit Rock.
Bruce Parkman is the president of the Mac Parkman Foundation, which raises awareness of adolescent concussive trauma and the devastating effect it can have on mental and emotional health.
